Mission, vision and ambition

Via Vinci presents a clear and ambitious mission-statement:
The leading international university for learning, improving and developing creative leadership and sustainable entrepreneurship.

Explanation of our mission-statement
Via Vinci exists because there is a global demand for innovative higher education for executives, the focus of which is formed by creative leadership and sustainable entrepreneurship within and together with businesses and other social organizations.

Vision
Via Vinci develops content-wise to a major university, geographically to a global organization and as regards to business to a multinational.
To reach that goal, we must meet stringent requirements as to contents, performance and accreditations, in the matter of marketing and acquisition we must realize a fast international out-roll and as for management we must establish excellent cooperative relationships with local partners.

Ambition
The ambitious dream of Via Vinci is to become the leading international university for learning, improving and developing creative leadership and sustainable entrepreneurship. Via Vinci is formed by a global network, consisting in 2012 of branches in 15 European countries and in 30 countries outside of Europe. In the same year, 15.000 professionals participate in Via Vinci’s activities, of which 5000 are students. Via Vinci will carry out 50 innovative research projects in 2012.
In our idea of the future - what we want to achieve in the longer term - the meaningfulness of our activities is central. From it comes our drive to do the things we have set out to do:
• Via Vinci contributes to the enhancement of practical new insights and products by carrying out innovative research in collaboration with companies, organizations and authorities.
• Via Vinci increases the well-being of people by giving them possibilities to fully deploy their human potential.
• Via Vinci offers a worldwide network of people and organizations that are highly motivated to develop themselves and their living and working environment.
• Via Vinci is a reliable partner to other universities, knowledge institutes, authorities and business all over the world.
• Via Vinci offers a sustainable added value to its students, society and environment based on the principles of People, Planet, Profit.

Coat of arms
The maxim as expressed in the mission-statement has been incorporated into the coat of arms of Via Vinci.

The motto means:
• Cognosco = I acquire knowledge, I recognize, I investigate
• Amplio = I improve, I renew, I perform
• Creo = I make, I create, I develop.

In the shield we also see other images:
• The lion, because we are proud of the fact that the Netherlands are the center of this broad international network of knowledge institutes and leading companies and innovation centers.
• The globe, because Via Vinci’s activities have a worldwide range.
• The icon, because Via Vinci uses this model for the development of people and organizations.

 

Target groups
Via Vinci aims at two segments of society:

Trade and industry:
Companies that commission Via Vinci to carry out research on a new product, process or market according to the standards of Corporate Social Responsibility.

Professionals:
The executive training market: executives and policy advisers with a work experience of at least two years and higher education, who wish to take top-level courses in the field of leadership and entrepreneurship.
Future executives are also a target group of Via Vinci: we offer nursery training for future leaders in all sectors of society.

Core values
The core values of Via Vinci, as resulting from our activities, are:

Creativity:
originating new ways of thinking and operating, new organizational and business forms, new products and new product/market combinations; as well as the inventive solution of problems and putting dynamism into jammed up systems.

Sustainability:
the socially sound improvement of processes, production techniques and systems, the sustainable development and education of people and organizations; furthermore the aspiration of preserving ecological diversity and the natural wealth of the earth.

Performance:
pursue ambitions on a high level, obtain results on the effectivity of organizations, the efficiency of processes, operating profits and the extension of professional capabilities; besides that: engage with inspiration and passion in order to feel the ‘flow’ that beams out around us.

Global Network:
include people in a worldwide network of professionals, students, companies and social organizations; inside that network make them experience comradeship and solidarity so they undergo their own learning and development process with a global perspective.

Business principles
Our business principles are those of Corporate Social Responsibility: People, Planet, Profit. We combine our commercial success with ethical principles and respect for people and the environment. We let all sections of society capitalize on our activities. By doing this we mean to contribute to a just society and a sustainable world.
