History

In the year 2000 two separate initiatives were started, that joined at the end of 2006 and in a merging process led to the International University for Creative Leadership and Entrepreneurship, which in 2007 received the trade name of ‘Via Vinci’.

The first of these initiatives was the establishment of the International University of Entrepreneurship (IUE) in 2000. Since its foundation, this university has been connected in partnership to the International Association of Science Parks (IASP), a worldwide network of approximately 600 science and technology parks in 75 countries connecting professionals all over the globe and providing services that enhance the growth and effectivity of its participants.
Members of IASP increase the competitive power of the more than 150.000 companies and entrepreneurs within their science parks, at the same time contributing to universal economic development through innovation, entrepreneurship and the transfer of knowledge and technology.
By the year 2000, IASP recognized the need for an new kind of education that would really close the gap between theory and practice. Governors of IASP initiated the foundation of IUE. After some years of preparation, the first MBA training group took off in 2005.

Also in 2000, IMAGO Group at Breda (The Netherlands) started its post-educational training activities. IMAGO Group has been working since 1996 as a professional service provider in the field of organizational and professional development. After a period in which all kinds of custom-made courses were produced with the core values of research, advise, counseling, education and training, the board and management of IMAGO Group observed inside its own network a growing need for innovative and practical higher education for executives.
This became the start of the post-educational training activities; meanwhile, more than 750 professionals have successfully taken part in this kind of training courses and crowned it with an official and registered post-educational diploma.

In 2006, the boards of IUE and IMAGO Group decided to start up a strategic collaboration which ended in melting together IUE and the training department of IMAGO Group, thus originating Via Vinci, the International University for Creative Leadership and Entrepreneurship.
