Creation Based Learning® is an educational didactic aimed at creation: the design (and successful implementation) of a new process; the development of an innovative product or concept; realising growth quantitatively and qualitatively. As a student, you will need to develop new competencies or to improve existing competencies in order to be able to create. This process is the key element throughout our educational programmes. This implies self-guidance and self-responsibility for students, as well as collaborative learning; even across borders. After all, Via Vinci is an International University. You will study together with students in other continents. Coaching on the job is one of our tutoring methods.
Key elements of this approach are:
- existing knowledge and experience are the starting point for the learning process; we do not believe in education by providing mere theoretical knowledge,
- the situational context of the student and the organisation he/she works for are the basis for designing the new learning experiences; study groups provide their own case studies,
- learning from teachers and from each other,
- the results for the own business practice are the touchstone for effective learning: what effects does the learning have for the own organisation. The desired learning outcomes are being discussed in the intake.
- Teachers are ‘professors of practice”, who combine knowledge with large business practice experience and stimulate students to cross functional learning.
In short, Creation Based Learning® is the educational didactic that fits with the development needs of active professionals: focused on results, business practice and efficiency.
